Brian Elsden Burrows, Architecte's Montreal office is composed of a team with a broad range of expertise and experience in all aspects of the architectural, planning and design disciplines.

With over 40 years of experience, the firm has gained a reputation for well conceived and executed creative design work within strict budgetary contraints.

Their experience in institutional, commercial, luxury private residential and the hotel and resort industry have given the firm added insight into the development of multi-unit residential projects.

The Principal, Brian E. Burrows, obtained a Bachelor of Architecture, with a minor in management, from McGill University. He graduated with distinction as University Scholar, and was awarded the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s Gold Medal for Architectural Achievement. Following his graduation, Mr. Burrows has acted as auxiliary professor to the McGill School of Architecture, and as a visiting critic.

Mr. Burrows trained with a local firm of architects for 4 years before entering private practice, acting as chief design and project architect in the Montreal area. His infill building and interiors for Banca Commerciale Italiana won a design award from the Order of Architects of Quebec in 1984.

Mr. Burrows has been a member in good standing of the Order of Architects of Quebec and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada since 1980 and is also a member of: Quebec Assoc. Architects in Private Practice, Ontario Association of Architects, Architectural Institute of British Columbia. He was also formerly associated with the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (Associate), American Society of Interior Design (Associate), International Facilities Management Association. In 2009 Mr. Burrows received his LEED certification.
